A 61-year-old woman has died after an explosion left a house in Bury, Greater Manchester.
The woman’s body was found after emergency services were called shortly before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday for reports of an explosion in the village of Summerseat, Ramsbottom.
Three people were treated at the scene for minor injuries, and a woman and child were hospitalized but have since been released, police said.

A police cordon remained around a row of houses on Thursday as investigations into the cause of the collapse continued, which destroyed the second house in a row.
Chief Inspector Jamie Collins of the Greater Manchester Police Department said the deceased had not yet been formally identified, but officials believed they knew who she was based on the address and inquiries that had been made.
He said, “About 30 surrounding houses were originally evacuated to keep these residents safe, but most have now safely returned to their homes, with only those living on the immediate street being evacuated as a precaution.”

A joint investigation between police, fire brigade, Cadent Gas and local authorities is underway, Chief Insp Collins said.
He added, “We are open to the circumstances of this incident and investigations are ongoing.”
The gas supply in the region had been isolated as a precaution, he said.
Steve Wilcock, security manager for the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, said there was a quick response to the incident following an initial report of an explosion.
He said, “We visited and quickly found a woman who was unfortunately pronounced dead.
“At this tragic time, we would only like to express our condolences to the family and friends affected.

“Summerseat is a very, very close community. It was evident last night, and certainly today, that communities come together to support one another. “
The story goes on
Wilcock said the crews would stay on the scene for the next few days, working to get people back to their homes.
But he said they were careful and a cordon stayed in place.
He said firefighters arrived at the scene quickly on Wednesday evening.
He added: “Firefighters worked all night. The weather wasn’t particularly good for us, but they did an excellent job. “
Dramatic images show the remains of the flattened house, with debris lying around in the garden and on the nearby street.
Local MP James Daly said on Twitter that it was a “traumatic evening” for the community and urged anyone in need of assistance to contact his office.
