Coronation Street and Dancing on Ice 2021 runner-up Faye Brookes recently took on Hollyoaks veteran and Jazmine Franks at Pizza Place Bury.
They went head to head at Fireaway Pizza on Bolton Road to see who can make the most authentic Italian slice.
Bury-born Hollyoaks actress Jazmine Franks had a good fight in the kitchen, but Faye Brookes was crowned pizza maker champion – decided by the restaurant’s own team of professional pizza makers.

Faye opted for a vegetarian heavy slice with a tomato base, mushrooms, spinach, mixed peppers, a double serving of grated cheese, drizzled with pesto and fiery oil and refined with salt and pepper.
Jazmine’s mighty meat mix was sprinkled with garlic oil with a BBQ bottom, a boatload of hot peppers, a grated four cheese mix, and mixed peppers to make a good measure.
Faye and Jazmine have teamed up to promote Fireaway Pizza Bury’s latest initiative to show the public that fast food doesn’t have to mean unhealthy eating.

The restaurant has tons of healthy pizza options and customers can fully customize their pizza experience with the freshest ingredients so they are in complete control every time.
All of Fireaway Bury’s ingredients are high quality UK and Italian products using freshly hand made batter and a 400 degree fire oven. The pizza is not only authentically Italian, but also super fast and ready in about 180 seconds!
With both soap stars getting deeply into their health, fitness, and general wellbeing, they were more than excited to join Fireaway after both living on-site and being big fans of the take-away pizza restaurant.

Faye said, “Fireaway Pizza is a cut above the rest! I’ve had so much fun creating my own pizza from scratch – it was an amazing experience and I’m very passionate about staying fit, healthy and making sure I eat the right foods. So it’s nice to know that there is a take away option out there that does it.It doesn’t have to be naughty food!
“Also, the local pizza makers voted my pizza the winner – I may be biased, but it was delicious and even Joe thought so when I took something home for him.”

Jazmine added, “What an experience. My pizza looked like a kid made it compared to Fayes, but it was so much fun and much tastier than it looked! How can you not indulge yourself in a Fireaway pizza when you know it isn’t full of all of the usual junk the takeaway is notorious for! I think Corrie will win this fight! ”
Fireaway Pizza Bury is located at 27 Bolton Road, Bury, BL8 2AB with sister locations opening in other local cities in the Greater Manchester area including Rochdale, West Houghton, Fallowfield and Northenden, with additional plans to expand in the coming months open.
