Bury St Edmunds PCR Covid-19 test center opens

A new Covid-19 PCR testing center is slated to open in Bury St. Edmunds before the demand for tests is expected to increase.

Starting Saturday September 11th, the new transit center behind West Suffolk House will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week.

Council chiefs say the test center will be needed by people in the west of the county to self-isolate after the August 16 rule changes.

Stuart Keeble, Suffolk Director of Public Health, said: “This new facility will help meet the anticipated increased demand for testing as fully vaccinated close contacts and those under the age of 18 will no longer need to self-isolate after being in the Have been around someone with coronavirus and it is recommended that you get a test instead.
