Hundreds of them perform in Glaston-BURY on Holiday Monday

HUNDREDS of acts were lined up for Glaston-BURY on the holiday weekend.

Psychedelic rockers The Water Diamonds are among the live performers on Monday across four outdoor stages and 15 venues.

The band, founded in 2006, consists of Dave Layton on drums, Steve Seddon on guitar and vocals and Ian Woolford on bass.

First held in 2008, Glaston-BURY was founded to celebrate Bury’s music scene and raise money for the Bury Hospice.

Last year, due to Covid-1.9, a virtual event was held to commemorate the Bury Hospice, Michelle King fundraiser.

Drummer Dave Layton said, “We are very happy to be returning to Bury for our third Glaston Bury, we have a real affinity with Bury’s black pudding, markets and shopping areas.

“When the pandemic started we thought we would have played in Bury for the last time, but we look forward to coming back, seeing other bands, networking and possibly working with them in the future.”

This year’s Glaston-Bury will feature 200 bands and artists with entry wristbands for £ 8, and all proceeds will go to Bury Hospice and other causes.

Bands to perform after The Water Diamonds include 10 Volt, Deadwing, Das Ringmeisters, Cobalt Tales, and Deaf Valley. Glaston-Bury starts at noon and wristbands are available during the day from the Castle Street ticket office, which grants entry to all venues.
