ROLE TITLE: Business Development Manager

PRIMARY BASE: Field based with presence at the main office in Bury, Manchester

RESPONSIBLE: Head of Sales and Marketing

PURPOSE: Increase sales through new sales

SALARY: Competitive

The aim of the field-based role of the Business Development Manager is to generate, identify and take advantage of opportunities to develop new business mainly in the UK railway sector.

You are expected to travel within the UK and abroad to visit customers and prospects.

Main tasks, but not limited to:

• Generating, identifying and seizing opportunities to develop new business, mainly in the UK rail sector.
• Create daily, weekly or monthly reports, communicate bookings and billing for the internal team as well as the reports required by the external teams, auditors, board meetings and the head of sales and marketing.
• Prepare and deliver high quality, clear, and concise presentations to ensure an instant understanding of the subject.
• Build professional and progressive relationships with clients and colleagues.

• Ensuring an accurate record of all pre-planned due activities, e.g. contract renewals, board reports, to ensure that everyone is aware of upcoming deadlines and work required.
• Respond promptly to all inquiries and work requests.
• Meet agreed performance levels and work to achieve the key outcome areas.

• Communicate orally or in writing with customers / suppliers / visitors / interested parties.
• Understand customer needs and expectations in line with the ethos of high standards of customer satisfaction.
• Conduct team meetings and events as needed.
• Build strong relationships with all departments within Rowe Hankins Ltd to ensure a good understanding of all relevant processes.
• Influence and support all departments as needed to achieve the required results.

collaboration

• Working closely with the sales team to increase sales performance.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, managers and customers.
• Make sure that all deadlines are met in a timely manner and that customers / colleagues are informed of the progress.
