Latest Bury lock rules, updates, and restrictions

England has now entered another national lockdown.

It is the third time in 10 months that Boris Johnson has imposed national measures.

This means that all of Greater Manchester and all 10 counties including Bury will have to follow the same coronavirus controls as the rest of the country.

It comes after an alarming increase in cases due to the superspreading variant.

On December 31, Greater Manchester was previously included in England’s government-established Tier 4 four-tier lockdown system.

Now the residents have to stay at home and only leave the house with certain exceptions.

Schools have been closed, as have non-essential businesses.

Failure to comply with the lockout rules can result in fines of up to £ 10,000.

What are the latest lockout rules in Bury?

The main points are:

  • You are not allowed to leave your home or be outside your home unless you have a “reasonable excuse” written into law.
  • You should minimize the amount of time you spend outside your home. It is against the law to socialize with family or friends unless they are part of your household or your support bubble.
  • You can only leave home to play sports and not for recreation or recreation such as a picnic. This should be limited to once a day and you shouldn’t travel outside of your area.

  • You can exercise in an outdoor public place with someone from another household, but they must stay 2 m apart.

  • There are still circumstances in which you can meet other people outside of your household, childcare or support bubble in larger groups. However, this should not be for socializing and should only be for permissible purposes.

  • If you do need to travel, stay local – that is, you shouldn’t travel outside of your village, town, or part of a town you live in – and try to limit the total number of trips you make to reduce.

  • You can only travel internationally or within the UK if you have a legal reason to leave for the first time.

  • You cannot leave your home or the place you live for vacation or overnight unless you have a reasonable excuse to do so.

  • The shielding has also been reintroduced. People who are clinically at risk who have previously been told to protect themselves should stay home and only go to medical appointments and exercise.

  • Funerals can be attended by a maximum of 30 people. Linked religious, faith-based or memorial events such as stone settings and ash scattering can also be continued with up to six participants.

  • Weddings and civil wedding ceremonies may only take place with up to six people, but should only take place in exceptional cases.

  • A number of businesses must close: non-essential retail stores, restaurants, lodging, recreational and sports facilities, entertainment venues, animal attractions, indoor attractions, personal care facilities, community centers and halls, outdoor sports venues. There are exceptions to this.

  • Important businesses can remain open, as can important public services such as dentists.
